Best for bulk orders, screen printing is our most cost-effective printing method.

Screen printing allows for vibrant prints that last the life-time of the garment. It is by far, the most popular apparel printing method. From college spirit wear, to that band t-shirt you can’t quite part with, screen printing is the industry standard.

However, please do not feel obligated to design online! Our graphic design team is more than happy to help you. Please note: Saving a design will not place an order. Please contact us if you would like to place an order for a saved design.

About Screen Printing

Screen printing is a printing method where ink is pressed through a mesh stencil using a squeegee. Some areas of the mesh are blocked with a resist, so the ink only passes through the areas of the mesh that are open. In screen printing, one color is printed at a time. Multiple screens are used for multicolored designs. After the garments are printed, they are cured in an industrial dryer.

Turnaround

Our turnaround during our busy season (mid-February through December) is generally 2 weeks. We can often accommodate quicker turnaround times if needed. Please call us (706-353-1060) for availability.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • How is pricing determined?

    • Apparel quantity (the higher the quantity, the less expensive the per shirt cost will be)

    • Shirt color (white is usually a lower cost and more economical to print on than colors)

    • Shirt style (short-sleeve, long-sleeve, pocket, ladies cut, hoodie, etc)

    • Number of print locations (ex: front, back, sleeve, pocket)

    • Number of ink colors in the design (the most cost effective print is one-color, one side)

  • What’s the best bargain?

A large order quantity with a one color design. If you anticipate re-ordering in the near future, consider waiting and order all of the apparel at once. This will give you a cheaper per-garment price.

  • If I re-order the design, is it the same price?

No, not necessarily. If the quantity of your re-order is different, it will change the price. Also, the price of the blank apparel fluctuates.

  • When do I pay for my order?

Usually a 50% deposit is required. You will be emailed an invoice after we receive your apparel quantities and finalize your design.

  • How can I pay?

You can pay online (through the invoice), over the phone, or in person. We can take card, cash, purchase orders, and business checks. We do not accept personal checks.

  • Can I design online?

Yes, please go to our Inksoft website here: stores.inksoft.com/_shirtworks. This site will allow you to design online, but please contact us directly to place your order.

  • I have created my own design, what file type should I send you?

We prefer vector designs when we can get them (usually the file types .ai, .eps, .pdf, or .svg). However, if these are not available please send us the largest image file you have. We like image files formatted to 300dpi at print size when possible. If your image is smaller, do not resize it, just send us the best file you have. See this image quality and file type guide for more information.

  • Do you have a rush fee?

Yes, due to the risk involved in rush orders we have implemented a rush fee. Please note: we cannot always accommodate 24 or 48 hour turnarounds due to our workload. For rush orders please call us at 706-353-1060 for availability.

    • Rush Within 48 hours: add 25% of total invoice

    • Rush Same Day: add 50% of total invoice

  • Can you set up online fundraisers?

Yes, we can set up online fundraising stores. There is a set-up fee to cover our labor. Please contact us for more information. We can help you figure out whether an online fundraiser is right for you.

  • Do you have a set-up fee or art fee?

We do not have a separate art or set-up fee for orders where we supply the apparel.

  • If I supply the garments, can you print on them?

Yes, this is called ‘Contract Printing’. This can be more cost-effective because you are not charged for the garment. You will be charged an art fee, set-up fee, and the print cost per garment. Please consult with us on any specialty/non-standard apparel.

  • Can you screen print on youth apparel?

We can screen print on youth apparel. If your order includes mostly adult apparel you may want to pay a youth screen fee. A design sized to fit a youth extra-small will look rather small on the larger adult sized garments. When you pay a youth screen fee, two sizes of art are printed: one sized to fit the adult apparel, one sized to fit the youth apparel. If there are only a few youth garments, we can decorate the shirts using heat-transfer or vinyl (we will consult you on what works best for your order).

  • Can you screen print on toddler and infant apparel?

We can screen print on toddler/infant apparel depending on the specific garments, the design, and the size of the order. If there are adult sizes on the order, it would be best to pay a youth screen fee (see youth apparel above). If you plan to order just a couple toddler/infant sizes we can decorate the shirts using heat-transfer or vinyl (we will consult you on what works best for your order).

  • Can you apply names and numbers for sports jerseys?

Yes, please contact us for pricing. (See: Vinyl)
